Welcome to the website of Hoo St Werburgh and Chattenden Parish Council, representing the communities of Hoo St Werburgh and Chattenden on the Hoo Peninsula in Medway, Kent.

The parish sits within a distinctive landscape between the River Thames to the north and the River Medway to the south. Although the area has grown and developed over the years, it retains strong links to its rural heritage, with farming, equestrian activities, wildlife and the surrounding countryside continuing to form an important part of local life.

The wider Hoo Peninsula is particularly important for wildlife and contains a number of nationally and internationally protected habitats. These include Lodge Hill Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), which is recognised for its nationally important breeding population of nightingales.

Hoo and Chattenden are surrounded by a number of neighbouring communities, including High Halstow, Stoke, Upnor and Wainscott, and benefit from their location close to the historic city of Rochester and the wider Medway area.
